Representando os sites Polêmico Rock e Thy Madness (www.thymadness.com), apresento abaixo uma entrevista com o frontman da banda Eluveitie, Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann. Confira!
PR: Consigo enxergar muitos elementos instrumentais nas composições do Eluveitie. Qual seria a banda mais influente para o Eluveitie? Ou se trata de algo completamente novo?
"Chrigel": Se você diz "influente" no sentido de "seguir a linha de alguma banda" eu não citaria nenhuma grupo. Nós não temos um "arquétipo" de banda (à seguir). Eu não sei se é completamente novo o que estamos fazendo, mas estamos fazendo nossa própria coisa, e não ligamos para que os outros fazem. Em contrapartida - todos nós temos o nosso próprio gosto musical e nossas bandas favoritas. E eu acho que é uma coisa natural que a música que você ama e escuta influencia nas canções que você escreve e compõe para você mesmo. Neste sentido, todos nós temos "bandas influentes". Mas essa gama de bandas é equiparável aos genêros que temos (hoje em dia), (então) de qualquer maneira, (as influências) abrangem bandas de qualquer genêro. A banda que eu mais gosto, pessoalmente, é The Bothy Band. Uma banda irlandesa de Folk tradicional. O instrumentista de 'uilleann pipe', - Paddy Keenan - é o meu herói (risos). eu sonho em me tornar tão bom quanto ele é. Talvez em um futuro distante!
PR: E sobre as letras? Quais são os tópicos mais influentes?
"Chrigel": Bom, você sabe, Eluveitie dedica-se à história e cultura celta. Então, quando eu estou escrevendo a nossa música, a principal influência é a própria história celta.
PR: Hoje em dia há muitas bandas fazendo quase a mesma coisa. Como um fã de música pesada, pude ver muito amadurecimento na música de vocês, como uma banda de metal. Como os fãs estão recebendo o Eluveitie pelo mundo a fora ?
"Chrigel": Absolutamente muito bem, na verdade.
PR: Língua gaulesa, letras celtas/helvéticos, álbum acústico ... então, podemos esperar mais surpresas e coisas exóticas em um futuro próximo?
"Chrigel": (risos) Uma surpresa não seria uma surpresa se eu revelasse tudo aqui agora mesmo, seria? Mas enfim, muito dessas coisas não são exóticas para nós - é apenas o que nós fazemos. E, sim, nós continuaremos fazendo o que nós gostamos. Então, esteja preparado!

PR: I can see a lot of instrumental elements in the compositions of Eluveitie. What`s the most influential bands for Eluveitie? Or is it about something completely new?
Chrigel: If you mean "influential" in the sense of "brining in line with", then I couldn't name any bands. We don't have kinda "archetype" bands. I don't know if it's completely new what we're doing, but we're simply doing our own thing and we don't care about what others do.
But on the other hand - we all have our own musical tastes and favorite bands. And I think it's a natural thing that the music you love and listen to a lot also influences the music you're writing and playing yourself. In that sense each one of us has his/her own "influencial bands". But this range of bands would be as wide as the range of musical styles anyway and really covers bands from nearly every genre. My personal favorite band is The Bothy Band - a traditional Irish Folk band from the 70ties. Their uilleann pipe player - Paddy Keenan - also is kind of my personal hero, haha. I dream of becoming as good as he is. Maybe one far day!
PR: And about the Lyrics? What`s the most influential topics for Eluveitie?
Chrigel: Well, as you know, Eluveitie is dedicated to celtic history and culture. So, when I'm writing our lyrics, the main influence is history itself.
PR: Nowadays, there are a lot of bands doing almost the same thing. I`m a fan of Heavy Music, and I could see a lot mature of you guys, as a metal band. How the fans are receiving Eluveitie around the world?
Chrigel: Pretty damn good actually.
PR: Gallic language, celtic/helvetian lyrics, acoustic album, ... So, can we expect more surprise and exotic things in a near future?
Chrigel: Haha, a surprise would not stay a surprise if I'd reveal everything about it right now, would it? ;) :P But however, such things actually don't seem that exotic to us - they're just what we do. And yeah, we'll just continue doing what we like. So be prepared! ;)
